Keynote Speakers

Lidia Morawska

Lidia Morawska PHD, FAA, FRSB, AAAS IHM, FTSE is a Distinguished Professor and Australian Laureate Fellow at the Queensland University of Technology; Director of the International Laboratory for Air Quality and Health, a WHO Collaborating Centre; Centre Director of the ARC Training Centre for Advanced Building Systems Against Airborne Infection Transmission (THRIVE); a Vice-Chancellor Fellow of the Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE), University of Surrey; and an Adjunct Professor at the Jinan University, China. She conducts fundamental and applied research in the interdisciplinary field of air quality and its impact on human health and the environment, with a specific focus on science of airborne particulate matter. She is a physicist and received her doctorate at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland for research on radon and its progeny. An author of >1,200 publications, she has been involved at the executive level with a number of relevant national/international professional bodies; is a Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences, Royal Society of Biology, and is frequently acting as an advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO). She is the recipient of numerous scientific awards.

Dirk Müller

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dirk Müller is a Full Professor, Vice Dean, and Head of the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate at RWTH Aachen University. He also serves as the Director of the Institute of Energy and Climate Research at Forschungszentrum Jülich and Head of the Steering Committee of the E.ON Energy Research Center. His core research fields include energy-efficient buildings, indoor climate systems, heat pump technology, refrigerants, data-driven methods for building automation, and district heating and cooling networks. Alongside his academic career, he acts as General Manager of the Heinz Trox Wissenschafts gGmbH, Senior Advisor to Viessmann Holding International GmbH, and Chairman of the Energy Advisory Board for the City of Aachen. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including a Fellow of the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations.

Long Ni

Prof. Long Li is served as the Director of the Provincial Engineering Research Center for Thermal Energy Application at Harbin Institute of Technology, and the Executive Deputy Director of the Cold Zone Building Science and Engineering Research Center. His research field: Low carbon heating and cooling theory and technology, including heat pump technology, physical separation technology, HVAC equipment research and development, building energy system optimization, etc. He hosted or completed over 100 national key research and development projects. He published over 250 academic papers in domestic and international academic journals and conferences, including over 130 SCI indexed papers. He is the TOP 2% SCIENTISTS (2025) by Elsevier and Stanford. He serves as the President of the Cold Climate HVAC and Energy 2025 International Conference.

Piia Sormunen

Dr. Piia Sormunen is an Associate Professor of Building Services at Tampere University’s Faculty of Built Environment. She also serves as the responsible director and coordinator for the AI Champion Co-Innovation project and leads the Talotekniikka 2030 initiative. Her core research fields include the lifecycle management and optimization of building services systems, building energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and utilizing digitalization and artificial intelligence to boost productivity in the construction sector. Alongside her academic career, she works as a development director at Granlund Oy.
